You don’t want to miss seeing Shaun White at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
That’s right. Two-time Olympic snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White will be appearing at the Rose Bowl to host an Air & Style show.
The show will not only feature snowboarding, but also skiing, skateboarding and music. Staged by Shaun White Enterprises, the event features various acts from rock and hip hop bands as well as competitive snowboarders and skiers.
This is a major even for White as it boasts a budget of over $5 million – all of which came from gold medalist’s pockets.
“It’s definitely a large number we have to overcome,” White said in a recent phone interview. “Pricing the event has been challenging. It’s a difficult business to grasp.”
White doesn’t intend to compete in the event, however. Probably because he’ll be busy, aside from hosting and overseeing the event, performing with his band Bad Things.
The event came to be after White’s return to snowboard competition. As we all remember, he had less than stellar performances at last year’s Sochi Olympics and at the X Games in Colorado. Because of these disappointing results, people have been speculating that White may be slowly turning his back from snowboard competition.
But that’s not really the case. The pro snowboarder said he’s not planning to step away from competing just yet. At least not in the near future.
Well, that’s a relief. It would be a shame if he stops competing this early.
