Check Out Inboard Monolith The Electric Skateboard

Inboard MonolithHave you tried electric skateboards?

They all seem to have the same problems. They feel too electric and it seems like there’s not enough skateboard. They’re often too thick to accommodate batteries and motors, and too heavy to push if the battery dies.

Fortunately, Inboard Sports has provided a solution to that problem.

The company introduces Inboard Monolith – an electric skateboard which motors are built into its wheels.

That’s right. Inboard Monolith boasts of wheel-housed motors that eliminates the need for a bulky belt-driven motor, freeing up space and weight on the bottom of the board.

The motor assembly also floats on free-spinning bearings, eliminating friction and allowing the board to coast at top speeds – which means that you should be able to push-drive the deck with just your legs when your battery dies.

Now, isn’t that neat?

What’s more, Inboard Sports stated that it’s also the first electric skateboard with a swappable battery – where each battery carries you 10 miles at 24mph. And less if you make use of the deck’s embedded USB port to charge your phone.

Through their Kickstarter campaign, the company has already breached its $US100,000 goal, and still has three weeks to collect backers.

While the Inboard Monolith is a great idea, it’s actually quite expensive. Apparently, the lowest priced backer reward to come with Inboard Monolith starts at $US1100.

I don’t know about you. But I still think it’s worth a try.
